  1. Carefully open the packaging of the card. Use a grounding wire or release any static electricity before touching the card and remove it from oneself.


  2. Place the card welding face down on a uniform, clean, and dry surface to set the DIP switch as required.


  3. Turn off the VME bus rack.


  4. Use the two sliding elements (handles) between the thumb and index finger to hold each finger of the card.


  5. Carefully slide the card into the corresponding slot of the VME system.


  6. Before sliding the card into the end, ensure that the two guide pins at the rear are secure


  Slide the side of the front panel into the dedicated holes on the rack.


  7. Unless already completed, lift the lower and upper sliding elements (handles) separately until they click.


  8. Press your thumb on the front panel and push the card firmly to the back.


  9. Use the two screws at the top and bottom of the front to secure the card to the upper panel of the rack. The GE90/70 system rack does not have an opening for the SM128V board card guide pin. If this fact is not taken into account when ordering the card, the guide pin must be removed before installing the card.


  To remove a board from a VME rack, perform the following steps:


  1. Turn off the power to the VME rack.


  2. Loosen the screws on the front panel.


  3. Press the two sliding elements (handles) apart. This will release
